Mission Statement
WE INTEND TO LET THE HOLY SPIRIT WORK THROUGH US.
WE INTEND TO IMPROVE AND THRIVE, NOT MERELY SURVIVE!
WE FEEL CALLED TO:
-
Look at who we really are as a congregation and recognize the strengths in that identity as we face religious, economic, and social change.
-
Build strength, support, and connection within the congregation and among our committees.
-
Involve more of our congregation in the work of our church.
-
Grow as a church, a session, and as individuals, not necessarily in size but spiritually.
-
Continue and expand our mission outreach which includes the Two Doors After-School Program, Habitat for Humanity, and Cameron Community Ministries.
THE CONGREGATION’S CURRENT VALUES
We encourage families to participate together in worship and communion. We expect a high level of involvement and responsibility from our session members. This enables those serving in other ways to spend “less time in meetings and more time in mission and ministry.” Our style of worship, including the music, could be described as “blended” in that we have a traditional foundation and format while being willing to add new styles to our liturgy. We engage in outreach to the community and world through a variety of hands-on mission activities.
We also have a long version of our mission statement.
